The 2019 public holidays will be 75 and other critical days of roadtraffic in which was placed the traffic ban for particular categories of vehicles and road transport. This is provided for by the annual decree of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, published on the institutional website of the MIT.
The measure, which aims to ensure better safety conditions in times of increased traffic, has already been registered by the accounting bodies and will be published in the Official Journal in the coming days.
The restrictions laid down in the timetable concern vehicles with a mass greater than 7.5 tonnes used for freight transport, exceptional vehicles or vehicles with exceptional loads and vehicles carrying dangerous goods. Facilities are provided for certain types of transport, such as from and to abroad, from the main islands and for those who transport goods to interports of national importance.
The limitations provided for in the 2019 calendar do not apply, however, to certain types of vehicles and transport specified in the decree, such as, for example, vehicles of the Fire Department and Civil Protection, military vehicles and police for service needs, those of the Red Cross, vehicles of the Regions and other local authorities, those for refuse collection and refuse collection and other types better listed in the measure.
Further derogations may be granted, following a duly motivated request, by the Prefectures.
