In relation to the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union (EU) and Japan, expected to enter into force on 1 February, it should be noted that all Italian companies interested in exporting to Japan benefiting from this agreement will have to proceed to their registration in the REX system (Registered Exporter System).
The registration serves to certify the EU origin of the exported product.
The national exporter (or reseller) who intends to be registered in the REX system must submit the application - as of now - to the competent local Customs Office, using only the application form 22-06 BIS.
The REX registration form for the EU-Japan EPA is the same as for the other EU trade agreements.
Once the REX number has been obtained at the end of the registration, the operator can use it to export to Japan and to any country requesting it under their preferential agreements.
